Sexuality has been another major teacher in my life.

For four years, I worked as a sex worker.
It brought me into experiences and conversations that many people rarely speak about openly.

Sexuality carries an extraordinary amount of human contradiction:
Desire and shame.
Freedom and fear.
Intimacy and distance.
Pleasure and insecurity.
Connection and performance.

I discovered something when I began speaking openly about my own experiences.
When I shared without shame, without pretending and without immediately worrying about what another person might think of me, something changed in the room.

Other people began talking too.
People told me about desires they had never spoken aloud.
Sometimes simply saying the words seemed to create a little more freedom.

That taught me something I still carry with me:

shame grows remarkably well in silence.

Sexuality, to me, is therefore about far more than sex.

It can be communication.
It can be vulnerability.
It can be a place where identity, desire, boundaries and connection meet.
And it can tell us an enormous amount about the relationship we have with ourselves.
